Drawing Layer objects jumping
Our office has a spreadsheet template which is used by 50+ people. A problem has cropped up with our migration from Excel 2003 to Excel 2010. The spreadsheet has ActiveX command buttons and OLE Word objects. The command buttons are for convenience of users firing off VBA jobs without using the Macro menu. The Word OLE objects were adopted because sometimes users need to type long paragraphs of text but Excel will only display 1024 characters per cell. Anyway in Excel 2010 the objects jump around the spreadsheet in a seeming random manner and they sometimes spontaneously resize themselves! I have read on Microsoft's support pages that the drawing layer technology changed from 2003 to 2007 but they don't say much about it beyond that. It seems that user machines with less memory and slower processors exhibit more of the strange behavior but sometimes even the higher end machines exhibit the problem. I wonder if anyone has had similar problems after an upgrade and figured out what is going on....
